The Snail Mafia is a series of photo sets inspired by the love I have for the unloved critters of the world. I think all life on earth is beautiful, and I love that snails especially have given me a newfound love and appreciation for life, and to take things slow to truly appreciate what I have in front of me each day. They remind me to truly live in the moment, have patience, and allow for simple days in between the more chaotic ones. Balance is important.

The snails you see in these images are my loved pets. I take their wellbeing seriously when creating art with them, so while I do not create with them every day to ensure their health and happiness, I am grateful for the moments I have with them. I happily work on the snails’ time, and they enjoy fresh veggies and fruit while on set. These shoots typically only take about five minutes to shoot, and I shoot with them 2-3 times a month at the most. The sets take a lot more time to build than taking the actual photos, but I love the whole process from start to finish. Snail care is top priority, the art is second.
